If you install the current version of GNS3 (0.8.4) for OS X you will get a preconfigured QEMU application suitable for ASA, IDS, and JunOS etc.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/gns-3/files/GNS3/0.8.4/

Best of Luck,
Jason

adurrani - do you have macports installed? the port command should download and build qemu from source code.

If you're going to be working with GNS3 then that includes an earlier version that is more stable as far as the ASA appliances are concerned.

First of all, thanks very much for your kind reply and support, i have installed the latest one through your URL which was preconfigured QEMU for Mac OS Lion, but now i can place ASA to Lab but while i start ASA it prompts me Loading Booting Kernel and stop, there is no process of complete boot i can see on console, seems like if i am missing something ?

Have you checked out http://7200emu.hacki.at/viewtopic.php?t=9074 - search for the word download in this post and download repack.v4.sh.gz - you will need a copy of asa842-k8.bin as well.

You have to first log in to http://7200emu.hacki.at before you can see the download link. If necessary, join the forum.

Hello,

Steps i did :

1.) I have tried, download repack.sh script on MacOS Lion but it was not working on Mac.
2.) then i install GNS3 on Ubuntu 11.10 version, it was installed successfully and working fine wity Dynamips and qemu.
3.) I am using Ubuntu 11.10 32bit, i have installed GNS3 from source which is running fine with Dynamips and Qemu.

4.) i have asa841.bin file, i am trying to build image files using repack.sh script, initially i was getting error, was not detecting syslinux/cdrtools later i have correct it path in script ISOLINUX_BIN=/usr/lib/syslinux/isolinux.bin. Now Detected syslinux/cdrtools.

5.) Now i am facing error as :

root@ubuntu:/home/edb/asa# ./repack.v4.sh asa841-k8.bin
Repack script version: 4
Detected syslinux/cdrtools - ISO will be created
Version <asa841-k8.bin> is not supported!

6.) I tried with different asa.831.bin images but was getting same error, please guide for the same.

Thanks in advance :)

The repack.sh script is written specifically for 8.4(1). If you can figure out how to make it work for asa851.bin please post your results back here!
Edit - I should have said 8.4(2)
