Ive been following the great guide by brainbump:http://www.brainbump.net/2008/08/how-to ... s-in-gns3/
My primary/local machine is a macbook pro.
I want to connect to an external hypervisor running vista.
However when I drag a router in GNS3 and select the IOS image for the external hypervisor eventually I get:
Timer out communicating with dynamips server...
Now, the dynamips server is started on the vista machine.
I thought that maybe it was a C:\ permission issue, so moved dynamips to the D:\ but no change.
Checking netstat -a in cmd prompt on Vista I DO see that a tcp session is established to tcp port 7200, and have verified this with:
telnet <vista host ip> 7200 (from terminal on my macbook pro)
and I do get a connection.
So this indicates that communication between the macbook and vista pc is OK from a TCP session perspective, so maybe its an issue with maybe a permission rights issue in not being able to access the IOS image in Vista?
I do have the IOS image under the D:\ also...
Not sure how to get this working, other than installing ubuntu, and trying the whole process again.
Anyone else been able to connect to a Vista external hypervisor who can shed some light on this?
