Hello Everybody,
After building my simple lab topology which consists of two IOS-XRv "DEMO" routers connected to some other 7200 series routers, I've assigned /30 point to point ip adresses, but unfortunately "PING" is not working on any of IOS-XRvs' interfaces !!!?
I've tried sub-interfaces, main interfaces , full & half duplex with no luck !
moreover the CDP is disabled as well.

Any suggestions please !

Thanx,
Amin

I think I found the problem.

In GNS3, i connected xr's first tengig interface to 7200 g0/0.

The ping did not work.

after connecting the second tengig interface to 7200 g0/0.
The ping works.

Hope it will help.
I am not familiar with XR but I think the first tengig is mgmt.

Also, I found a valid workaround...

(1) before connecting nodes
(2) configure each interface and no shut whether 1,2,3...so on. if you follow this you will be able to use xrv interfaces in order. do this in both nodes (7200 + xr vm).
(3) connect nodes one interface at a time ( than do step 4) and if successful repeat for all other same node interconnects, etc. do not move to another interconnect unless one comes up and is reachable.
(4) in ios xr vm bump each interface with shut...commit...no shut...commit. it should come up and you should be able to send traffic and configure interfaces using a logical order g0/0/0/0, gi0/0/0/1...

caveat: in node configurator make sure nic model is automatic for xrv's and select console support and headless modes only.
