Hi,

This is a current and intentional limitation. It will be fixed in alpha2.

Also be sure that the server prompt screen is running. I was having this error because I closed that. Once I ensured that was opened everything worked fine.

it's not too big of an issue since the L3 IOU switches are actually routers that have none of the switch major switch options, but all of the router functions. While the L2 switch images have full L3 switch functionality...

There is problem that using L3 switches while making ping there is Error for Failed Encapsulation if Switch is used as Router.

I'm running Alpha 4 on Windows 8 and I get the same error message ("server 127.0.0.1 cannot communicate with server 192.168.56.101, most likely because your local server host binding is set to a local address") when trying to connect a 3745 router and IOU (tried both L2 and L3).

I thought I read this was supposed to be fixed in Alpha 2..but I'm still having a problem.

Any ideas?

That is basic networking. Can 127.0.0.1 talk to 192.168.56.101?

Search on Google for 127.0.0.1.

Seriously, that's the site admin's response to me?

How about something useful, like: update your host binding under Server Preferences to use the correct adapter's IP address (192.168.56.1) ??
