CiscoStud,

I am having a similar issue. I am getting the message below when trying to console to a IOU device

INFO:gns3.modules.iou.iou_device:IOU2 has started
INFO:gns3.telnet_console:starting telnet console "xterm -T IOU2 -e 'telnet 127.0.0.1 4002' >/dev/null 2>&1 &"
Warning: Tried to connect to session manager, Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed

Also when I try to console into the IOU device the window shows
xterm: Can't execvp telnet 127.0.0.1: 4001: No such file or directory

GOT IT WORKING. Had to install putty and then specify Putty as the console. For my how-to on installing, please visit my blogpost http://www.nycnetworkers.com/study-tips ... y-release/

Thanks for everyone on the forum for helping out!

Hello...

I'm running ubuntu and have a hostname of:

ubuntu-ThinkPad-T400

This should be my final step to get this running. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks... I got it... it did give me a license and i put it in the iourc file in the correct format, and ensure that GNS3 was pointed to my file (/home/ubuntu/.iourc). However I still get the following error...

http://wwwin-enged.cisco.com/ios/iou/license/index.html

Place in your iourc file as follows (see also the web page
for further details on iourc file format and location)

[license]
ubuntu-ThinkPad-T400 = <16 char license>;

is there somewhere specific this iourc is supposed to go?

Thanks
