There is a picture above in the OP where you should set the path. If you followed the guide you already have the all needed files. Just set the path to the same as in the pictures.

Thanks I fixed the issue. I corrected the paths and also edited my iourc.txt file. Works like a charm

Hello all,

I am having trouble trying to start IOU devices in gns3. I followed the steps along with other steps for the x64 version of Mint 16.

When ever I try to start a IOU device I get this error in the GNS3 console:

Code:
=> Server error [-3200] from 127.0.0.1:8000: IOU1: uncaught exception <class 'NameError'>: global name 'iou_path' is not defined
Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/usr/local/lib/python3.3/dist-packages/gns3_server-1.0a3.dev2-py3.3.egg/gns3server/modules/base.py", line 258, in _decode_request
    self.modules[self.name][destination](self, params)

  File "/usr/local/lib/python3.3/dist-packages/gns3_server-1.0a3.dev2-py3.3.egg/gns3server/modules/iou/__init__.py", line 436, in vm_start
    iou_instance.start()

  File "/usr/local/lib/python3.3/dist-packages/gns3_server-1.0a3.dev2-py3.3.egg/gns3server/modules/iou/iou_device.py", line 417, in start
    if not os.path.isfile(iou_path):

NameError: global name 'iou_path' is not defined

I have all the prereqs for IOU setup: iouyap, x86 libraries, iourc.txt so I am not sure what iou_path is referring to. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks!

That fixed it. Thanks Jeremy! I'll stay out of the dev branch.

I cannot figure out how to add a host.

I presume its a Cloud but how can I use a vpcs or have it act as a end PC device?

If we want to update to the latest Alpha3 would be just have to do apt-get update and apt-get upgrade for GNS3?

Thanks

Andy

For update, you need to reinstall all the time?
Code:
sudo pip uninstall gns3-gui

First time (only once) you have to clone the repository using
Code:
git clone --branch=master git://github.com/GNS3/gns3-gui.git GNS3/gns3-gui

then change to the git clone directory pull up the latest changes and reinstall gns3-gui
Code:
cd ~/GNS3/gns3-gui
git pull origin master
sudo python3 setup.py install

Same steps apply also to gns3-server. Config files are preserved.

It was mentioned in startup-config not synchronized with devices
