Post subject: Issue Connecting to External Hypervisor on 64bit Vista
PostPosted: Thu Jun 25, 2009 3:13 pm
Hello,

I have a 64 bit Windows desktop with a quad core that I would like to act as an external hypervisor for several IOS's. I have installed GNS3 on both the laptop and desktop and can use both locally. When I try to leverage the 64 bit Vista desktop remotely as an external hypervisor, I am unable to get it to work. I do see an established tcp connection on both machines, but the device is never successfully dropped into the local laptop (eventually I get an "unable to connect" message). I have removed Windows FW and the communication flow seems solid as noted by the established TCP connection on 7200 on the desktop side.

I would really appreciate assistance if someone has any ideas on this. This tool is awesome and I cant wait to get it working efficiently. I am a Cisco Academy instructor and have used Packet Tracer, but this GNS3 tool is unbelievably powerful!

Thank you in advance,

Keith
