Indeed iniparser isn't yet in Debian... But has been packaged and the maintainer just needs to get it uploaded...

In the meantime if your're compiling on Ubuntu you can use the GNS3 Development Tools PPA... https://launchpad.net/~gns3/+archive/dev where I have uploaded the iniparser package

This is how I did:

git clone http://github.com/ndevilla/iniparser.git
cd iniparser
make
cp libiniparser.* /usr/lib/
cp src/iniparser.h /usr/local/include
cp src/dictionary.h /usr/local/include

git clone https://github.com/GNS3/iouyap.git
cd iouyap
make
chmod +x iouyap
sudo cp iouyap /usr/local/bin/

Enjoy!

Any reason why you just don't run "make install"?

If you read the makefile you will notice that there is no make install rule.

Hi,

Thanks for this, it really helped me getting iouyap installed so I can run packet captures on IOU devices :)

Only additional things I had to do was install bison and flex using apt-get.

Regards,

Jonathan
