Hi everyone,

I just uploaded a YouTube video which runs through three major issues I came across when I tried to install the latest version of GNS3 (version 0.8.2) on Ubuntu 11.10.

The three issues I came across were:

* How to install GNS3 manually on Ubuntu 11.10 and not using the Ubuntu Software Centre?
* How to overcome the most annoying error message "206-unable to create generic ethernet NIO" which people run into when trying using the Cloud in GNS3?
* How to create a shortcut on your Desktop without the need to bring up Terminal and typing all the needed commands?

I hope this video will help a lot of newcomers to Linux/Ubuntu on how to run GNS3 and enjoy the power of such great application :)

This page needs to be updated, dropping the old videos and only keep the ones that are still relevant with the latest GNS3.

Well to go further, I would like to propose you something, what about joining our team and become the official video maker for the GNS3 project?

We are already very busy coding GNS3 and it would be great someone make videos. We are aware user tutorials/howtos is one of our weakest point, we are trying to change that and if you join us this would save us lot of time, moreover and more importantly this would improve the overall GNS3 user experience.

Thanks for your proposal. To be honest, I would be more than happy to join your team and help improving the GNS3 experience.

I've always thought that having a centralised place where are all the 'How to's' are located makes it easy for people to familiarise themselves with any software and make their time more valuable.

I've only uploaded one video to the new channel, and I'm thinking of uploading two more every week, so the channel will have more valuable information over the next few weeks.

Please let me know where to go from here.

Well making videos is already a lot but if you want you can review the video page on gns3.net and make a list of what we can keep (still relevant) or the ones that need to be updated, this could even give you ideas for your future videos. You can also add other videos made by you or others. The objective is to have a good list of quality videos that cover many topics.
