I have followed this exactly (and several others) however cannot get ping to work between two XRs with or without a switch. I have tried the workaround suggested in the video to no avail. Has anyone solved this problem using Windows 7 64 bit & Virtual Box?

Thanks,

I see that ping dont work here is the work around for it...

1.Connect the VM as per you topology...
2.Start VM and config the devices.
3.ping with count 10000 them... it will not work
4.delete the links in GNS3 (just links no routers with stopping it)
5.reconnect the link and you can see in console ping start..

I have followed this guide as well as many others but cannot seem to get it to work. It keeps crashing after about 30 minutes to an hour of it configuring itself. I can configure a username and password, but it will crash shortly after.

I managed to resolve this. I created a new VM, lowered the amount of CPUs down to 2 cores only, and set the memory at about 90% of system memory, in my case this was about 7GB of ram. This allowed the router to boot up within 2-5 minutes.

Hi

I'm also running XRv in virtualbox and GNS3 and was also not able to succesfully implement a connection to any other router in GNS3 also ping was not working. Tried also multiple times to remove & add the link between the devices w/o any success. My host is a win7 pc.

The only thing which 100 % works for me was to modify the host-only adaptertyp in virtualbox and in GNS3 -> virtualbox -> virtual guest -> NIC Model into vitrio. I assume all other network drivers are not really compatible to IOS-XRv.

You should keep also in mind that in virtualbox :
adapter1 matches to Mg0/0/CPU0/0
adapter2 matches to Gi0/0/0/0
adapter3 matches to Gi0/0/0/1
...

Best Regards
