|Post subject:||Bug? : Inter-vlan routing without any routers.|
After going over a lab I previously completed fine, I noticed that during setting up the vlans that they were malfunctioning. I am using 3725 routers with etherswitch modules and "No ip routing" to disable routing on them. After confirming all of the trunking ports between the switches were set up properly, and as were the access ports, I tried some basic pings. What I found is that switches (and the hosts) were able to ping from a source of vlan X to a destination of vlan Y. Effectively it operates like all vlans are being routed even though I've disabled all routers connected to narrow out any possible relation to the non-switching routers.
If needed, I can post the topology and some interface switchport dumps to show that the configuration is right, but right now I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue before and how to fix it/what is causing it.
