Host OS: Windows 7 64-bit Host RAM: 8.00 GB Host processor: Intel i5 CPU 660 @ 3.33GHz Virtual Box: 4.3.12 Image: i86bi-linux-l2-adventerprisek9-15.1a GNS3: GNS3 1.0Beta2 VBOX settings Base Memory: 4096MB Network: Host-only Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop IOU seetings in GNS3 All Defaults other than RAM Size: 512MB NVRAM Size: 256kb GNS 3 topology: 8 IOU Devices (Issue occurs when 4 are running as well) Issue: When I start my consoles to each device, inevitably at least one (sometimes two) hangs and the console becomes unresponsive. This occurs almost immediately after starting up the topology. If I restart the device, then I can console in again but then another device will hang. Troubleshooting steps I've taken: - Increased base memory on Virtual Box from 2GB to 4GB - Increase NVRAM and RAM size on GNS3 IOU devices to double the defaults - After a hang occurs, I've tried going in to the device via SecureCRT instead of Putty. The SecureCRT connection also fails. - Checked exec-timeout DLS2#show run | i exec exec-timeout 0 0 exec-timeout 0 0 - This also was occurring during previous alpha releases on GNS3, however, this issue never occurred when I was using router images in GNS3 0.X. If all else false, I will probably try a windows 7/Ubuntu duel boot and install GNS3 on Ubuntu. Any ideas that the community can provide are highly appreciated. If anyone would like to see configurations or other outputs, please let me know. Thank you!, Zappa Phan |

Just wanted to say I ended up not being able to fix this issue after a few days of research. I decided to install GNS3 on Ubuntu 14 x64, which was a task in and of itself. But now GNS3 runs flawlessly. |
