I can't seem to get this to work on one of my GNS3 boxes. I have it working on another server ( 2012 R2), but it refuses to work on this 2008 R2 box. ASA is 8.4.2, the settings in qemu options test successfully inside the options menu, but when I drag an ASA to my topology, I get connection lost.

I have tried changed the working directory to other than the C: ( this has worked in the past), but no luck this time.

I have rebooted.

I have re-installed.

I have configured GNS3 to run as administrator.

Not sure what more to try here. I've spend a deal of time on the web trying to resolve this, but most threads offer things that don't help, or just fade away with no solution offered.

Here is some GNS3 console debug info from when I try to drag an ASA on to the topology:

Current debug level is 3
=> 14:41:30: DEBUG (2): Hello, I have initialized and my model is 5520
14:41:30: DEBUG (2): QemuManager: Qemu is already started with pid <sip.voidptr object at 0x0000000005146710>
14:41:30: DEBUG (2): Qemuwrapper: 127.0.0.1:10525
14:41:30: DEBUG (2): Set default initrd E:\GNS3\Cisco IOS\ASA842\asa842-initrd.gz for node type <class 'GNS3.Node.AnyEmuDevice.ASA'>, model '5520'
14:41:30: DEBUG (2): Set default kernel E:\GNS3\Cisco IOS\ASA842\asa842-vmlinuz for node type <class 'GNS3.Node.AnyEmuDevice.ASA'>, model '5520'
14:41:30: DEBUG (1): sending to qemuwrapper at 127.0.0.1:10525 -> qemu create asa ASA12

Closed GNS3 and then tried again:

14:45:23: DEBUG (1): sending to qemuwrapper at 127.0.0.1:10525 -> qemu delete ASA1

EDIT: Well, it's working now. I looked at the debug and it seemed it was crashing when loading Kernel cmd line. So I went to a working GNS3 machine and carefully copied the cmd line from it over to this one and it now works.

This is odd, since I always setup my ASA on GNS3 from the same txt file. It must have had a trailing space or something in it.
