In my opinion there are some misunderstandings here.

GNS3 promised switching and everyone understands that will be Cisco switching. Running into the cloud, and we just connect. Forever. For free. It sounds too good to be true.

Good luck with fund raising anyway. I would wait first to see how Cisco VIRL looks like.

Thanks so much, hope you didn't get issue with the crowdhoster server (they kinda crash for a few minutes) ;)

Well that will be Cisco switching using IOUL2, so no misunderstandings here. The cloud feature will leverage a public cloud like AWS, Google or Rackspace and this isn't gonna be completely free as you have to pay for on-demand server instances. It is currently possible to use AWS with GNS3 but we want to streamline that and make very easy.

Regarding Cisco VIRL, we don't know when it is coming out (supposed to be early next year I think) and how much it is gonna cost, unlikely to be $5... ;)

Hope I answered your concerns, let me know if you have more questions.

That's my contribution made! It's astonishing to see such huge support for GNS3.

I would like to wish all the developers the best of luck with GNS3 1.0 and look forward to working with you further to push GNS3 to the next level.

I too jumped on "The Premium Package - Early birds" level. I have been a long time user of GNS3, glad I am able to help with the upgrade.

Congrats on your first goal. I bought the premium early bird. Been using GNS3 since its inception.

I guess Packet Tracer is done, but I doubt VIRL will be free. That being said, VIRL looks promising. Competition is always good.

We understand that some of you have no access to a credit card. You can use our Paypal donation page and indicate what package you want in the comments.

Cheers!
