I've been attempting to get a sample topology working, and I've pretty much hit a wall, so I thought I'd ask here. I've got a Netware 5 server running in VB, an NT4 SP6a workstation as a client/nwadmin32 box, a simple Ethernet switch, and two 7200 routers (playing with HSRP/VRRP/GLBP). The *only* way I've successfully been able to get those two stations to communicate with each other has been basically to directly connect the two, or to use UDP Tunneling, and point each one SRC port to the others DST port (basically the same as directly connecting).
Has anyone else been able to get a server to talk to multiple clients, without resorting to bridging via the host adapter? I'm trying to do all this virtually, to avoid needing to disrupt the current network setup, or bringing up live hardware to be the stations.
Am I doing this wrong, or have I bumped into a limitation of either Virtualbox, the vboxwrapper, or GNS3?
I'm aware Netware 5 is ancient. I used to be a CNE 4.x/5.x about 15 years ago, and thought I'd tinker with it, since I had fond memories. I can set up an NT4 or 2K3 server, but I've been trying to keep the config as small and lightweight as possible.
