Post subject:  unable to save running config to startup config

Hi all,

another problem emerged while i was playing around with GNS3 1.0beta2 on Win7 x64.

My config changes are not getting saved to startup config - i have tried several router images, i even installed GNS3 on a brand new VM to make sure it's not something with my host; when i do "copy run start" or "write mem" it is seemingly successful, but if i reload the router or shut it down and power it up again all my changes are gone.

I checked the config register on the routers and it is in normal state.

If I check the device config file in (GNS3\projects\*projectname*\*projectname*-files\dynamips\configs\i1_startup-config.cfg) all i get is the default config, as if my changes are not getting saved here.

Anybody experienced this before? All input is much appreciated.

Have you saved your project in GNS3 as well before rebooting the router? Saving the config inside IOS is not enough, you must also tell GNS3 to extract that config from IOS to save it a the startup-config.cfg file.

What Jeremy means by...

...is that you have to click File | Save project
