Hello to everyone.

I and friends are trying to set up a topology that looks like the picture

Image

Everything went well enough untill now. We set everything and after that routers are pinging each others and each VBOX can ping the nearest router but the VBOX's cant ping each other. (all VBOX's are running Linux's Debian Distribution)

We are beginners and at this moment we stuck. I would you like to know if you guys have some tip of problem or maybe an advice of thing of config to check or something like that.

Thanks you so much for the help.
Regards.

Is there any routing protocol implemented in your topology?

Hello Khaled, thanks for your reply.
As routing protocol we're using RIP running over TCP.

Could you please provide a configuration file for each router?

Can you also provide the subnetts in your network? I have a feeling you're using RIPv1 which advertises subnets back to their classfull boundaries.

Even though that you guys are using RIPv1, I don't see this affecting your topology anyway as the subnets used on the FE interfaces is of class C.

Could you try pinging from R1 right to VBOX1? Does it work?

To eliminate such confusion, it's better to create loopback address at each router and use

Code:
ping destination_loopback_IP_address source source_loopback_IP_address

Could you please provide the routing table of each router?

Code:
#show ip route

The ping attempt was successful. From router to VBOX1 and inverse direction also.

Hi Khaled.
First off all i would like to thank you for your help.

Today we decide to start all over again. I new fresh GNS3 Project on another machine. We used the same router config files and the we did the same for the VM's.

After finishing things, we had success in pinging machines from different subnet. This time everything worked fine.
Thanks again for your support.

Glad to hear mate, because I had to set up a duplicate toplogy to yours and it actually worked with your exact configuration!

Question though, why are you guys using public IP addresses in a small topology like yours?

Hehe... an exercise's restriction. The idea was to represent links between brazilian (our country) cities. São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná... and for that we had to use this type of IP as a premise.
