Hi, I'm looking at the possibility of emulating a RuggedCom RX1500, I have obtained all the images etc (it runs a flavour of debian) and discovered its possibly running on a MPC8360 chip (powerpc). Is emulating this with qemu likely to be possible? From the qemu docs it looks like several cpus from the same family are supported (although not this exact one). Are there some good reasons why this won't work or shall I roll up my sleeves and give it a try?

I don't believe the RX1500 will work, but I believe the RX1000 will.

When we started using them, I was told the RX1500 is a hardware based router. The RX1000 which uses the same OS is a software based router.

I was hoping to get it to emulate and was going to try setting up a qemu image but after repeated attempts I gave up. This was because of not being able to understand well enough how to, not because it couldn't be done.

I think I still have an image for the RX1000 if it helps.

Thanks
