Hi, I've installed and created a Qemu host in GNS3 0.8.6 running on Windows XP SP3.

I am trying to create a Qemu host running Linux that supports the telnet daemon (telnetd). Basically, to act as a telnet server.
I got the image downloaded (Qemu linux-core-4.7.7.img) from http://www.gns3.net/appliances/.

Question:

Linux Core 4.7.7 was on top of the list. I've heard that Microcore and Tinycore is obsolete and that it's now simply called "Core". I chose this because I am thinking it is the latest "Core' replacement for Microcore & Tinycore.

There were two problems with this image.
a) I was expecting a blue Desktop upon bootup but I only got to a login prompt. No GUI. No problem. I know Unix/Linux.
b) I could not find the telnet daemon anywhere in this distribution.

If not, should I use one of these:

Linux Microcore 3.8.2 [21.4 MB]
Linux Tinycore 3.8.2 [27.5 MB]

Am I stuck not being able to run a Qemu host that supports telnetd?
I'm not sure but this thread, topic2404.html seem to indicate that Microcore has telnetd and works.

Thanks!
