Post subject:  Request for GNS3 v1

Hi Jermey,

Firstly I just want to say a big thankyou to you and all your team for all your hard work and dedication in providing us with such a fantastic bit of software!

I just have a quick suggestion \ request for the latest software you are currently desigining- i'm not sure how feasible this would be!

I currently use GNS3 with real switches (connected via quad nics) and accessed via a terminal server on different ports .

When I set up a lab I have custom switch images that are configured as clouds. What I would like is the ability to right click the image and 'console' into my real switch. Obviously you would have to configure the IP address and port number somewhere so the console \ telnet session would know where to point to.

Furthemore if you could also add the telnet\console option to the 'Decorative Node' symbols that would also work well. I use the Decorative Node switch symbols to map out my physical switch topology, 'virtually' within GNS3.

What I'm basically asking for is if you could make the new software easier to integrate with real switches with the ability to access these all from within the GNS3 software and for GNS3 to show the topology between phyiscal switches ie. switch interlinks etc.

Hope this makes sense and best of luck with the GNS3 v1 !

Simon

We have it on our TODO list but you will need to be patient as this is not a priority.

Thanks for the idea!
