I am running GNS3 on Windows 7 and followed the instructions at
and attempted to connect the topology to my LAN via the cloud. The NIO Ethernet tab has my local adapter. I tried following the instructions and installed the MS loopback adapter successfully, however it never shows up in the NIO Ethernet tab as a selection - only the regular Local network adapter shows up.
For the purposes of connecting GNS3 to a real network, why not to select the Local network adapter for the NIO Ethernet? Is there some reason why the Microsoft loopback adapter must be used instead of the regular network adapter?
Right now the 2691 router is able to ping my real network subnet of 192.168.1.0 but cannot ping the router at 192.168.1.1
