My tutorial is still valid for Mountain Lion.

From looking at some of these configs, it looks like most are omitting the virtual TAP network interface implementation. The TAP interface is required for the hypervisor (Dynamips) <-> Mac host bind. You can't use the physical network interfaces on your Mac (enX) for the bind. Hypervisor-initiated network traffic has to pass thru the TAP interface first before it will get to your Mac host (and the rest of the physical world). Hopefully the following screenshots make this more clear.

Finally got it working, added this command to MBP:

sudo sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1

Then, configured figured my cisco 2801 firewall which is doing nat to permit my Gns3 network range to be NAT'd. I can now ping the net! wahooo!

G'bye windows!

Hi Guys,

I have a similar problem has this ever been solved?

I am using a Mac Book Pro and working through CBT nuggets labs for the real world CCNA topic,

I have managed to get GNS3 fully functional until I have to integrate my topology into a cloud and connect to the Internet, but every time I drop a cloud into the tolpology and then configure the en2 interface i get the following error

R1: lost communication with server 127.0.0.1:7200

I have followed all the steps talked about in the multiple forum discussions but I have had no luck, my setup is thunderbolt ethernet adapter connecting into my router, I am running as ROOT for GNS3 and i am still having no luck!

Can somebody please advise

thanks

Anthony
