Post subject:  JunOS dhcp

I have been playing with olive 10.4R1.9 domestic in qemu.
I would really like to have one of the "em" interfaces (say em3) configured as a dhcp client.
But in edit mode I get to:
set interfaces em3 unit 0 family inet
and then there is no dhcp option...

Am I just being daft and missed something or what?
I am speculating that dhcp client support was removed from 9.4 but that is just wild speculation.
I have tried this configuration with e1000 and i82559er, and with a range of mac addresses. No change.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Thanks
Gordon.

Hi,
i have similar problem on Olive 10.1R1.8. It seems though that the dhcp is hidden config command and not supported on Olive.
So far i got to a point where you can define dhcp , but not really use it.

root# edit system services d?
Possible completions:
> database-replication Database replication configuration
> dhcp-local-server Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server configuration

root# edit system services dhcp

[edit system services dhcp]
root# set ?
Possible completions:
...
> name-server Domain name servers available to the client
> option DHCP option
> pool DHCP address pool
> router Routers advertised to clients
...

root> show system services d?
No valid completions
root> show system services dhcp ?
Possible completions:
binding Show DHCP client binding information
conflict Show DHCP address conflict
global Show DHCP global scope information
pool Show DHCP address pool information
statistics Show DHCP statistics
root> show system services dhcp binding
error: command is not valid on the olive

Yep. It appears that Juniper Olive will actually allow you to configure a dhcp server, but a show configuration reveals that you're correct - it's "unsupported" altogether on Olive (I'm using 12.1R1.9).

Code:
## Last changed: 2013-05-20 21:50:51 UTC
version 12.1R1.9;
system {
    root-authentication {
        encrypted-password "$1$szoU224z$zAOL9ZMQV12UxZGPWAUC0"; ## SECRET-DATA
    }
    services {
        ##
        ## Warning: configuration block ignored: unsupported platform (olive)
        ##
        dhcp {
            pool 192.168.1.0/24 {
                address-range low 192.168.1.10 high 192.168.1.100;
                default-lease-time 3600;
                domain-name mydomain.com;
                name-server {
                    4.2.2.2;
                }
                router {
                    192.168.1.1;
