 Post subject: basic vlan

hi ,i want implement a basic vlan that attached below.during i was attemping to create a subinterface in the R1 interfaces with the nm-16esw module i encounter with "invalid input" error.and when i used the nm-1fe-tx module the "switchport mode trunk" command not worked.please help me to solve this problem and tell me how i can use encapsulation command in the subinterface and switchport commands ios model is c3640-ik9o3s-mz.124-18

Hi nahib!

When I use VLANs in GNS3 with NM-16ESW card, the command that I always use don't work:

switchport trunk allowed vlan <VLAN>

is mandatory to assing defaults VLANs: 1, 1002 and 1005. For example, if you configure VLAN 10 the command must be:

switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,1002-1005

Other problem is that VLANs are down when router is started and must be stand up with command:

vlan database
vlan <ID> name <NAME> state active
