Was this ever resolved? I am getting the same on the Beta1 release.

Hi,

What is the output of your locale command?

Quote:
$ locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

Also, what are the first few lines you see if you manually start the gns3 server (command: gns3server).

Thanks,

As a general advise, make sure your locale is set to UTF-8. All modern Linux systems do this by default, usually by setting the environment variable LANG to "en_US.UTF-8", or another language. Also, make sure your filenames are encoded in UTF-8.

The problem is a path to one of your IOU image which must contain some non ascii characters. What are all your IOU paths?

Are you running GNS3 (both GUI and server) on Linux or Windows?

Thanks,

Post subject:  Re: gns3server.exe not found

I am running the windows package so I believe both yes :) I downloaded the IOU virtual image from the install instructions and deployed it on virtual box. My path for the IOU is:
/home/gns3/GNS3/images/i86bi_linux-adventerprisek9-ms.152-2.15.T

And my iourc is:
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\iourc.txt

Is that what you were looking for?

Edit ** So after you mentioned the path I decided to remove the image and re-add it. For some reason now its working. I only re-entered the same info but I do not get the error now. Hmm on well thanks for the help hopefully this helps some one else in this great community and thank you for all your teams work on the project.

Regards,
Alan
