I used to have GNS3 0.7.4 working on Snow Leopard. I didn't use it for a while, upgraded to Lion, then tried to use it again the other day. I can't seem to start Dynamips from inside the program. If I click on test, I get the spinning beachball and the program basically just freezes.

I've since erased and reinstalled GNS3 a bunch of times, copied and pasted the executable path, but it still doesn't work. I currently have two dynamips .bin files two choose from. I've tried it with both, but haven't been successful.

I've tried both of the following:
/Applications/GNS3.app/Contents/Resources/dynamips-0.2.8-RC3-community-OSX.intel64.bin
/Applications/GNS3.app/Contents/Resources/dynamips-0.2.8-RC2-OSX-Leopard.intel.bin

Does anyone have any advice that might help me along? It is starting to drive me a little crazy.

Can you get dynamips started OUTSIDE GNS3 from Terminal? You should at least try, you may get some error messages that might indicate that permissions have to be adjusted of at least some more to go on.

I am able to run dynamips from the command line with no errors as far as I can tell.

If I press "Test", I can see in the Activity Monitor that Dynamips has started running. However, GNS3 hangs with the spinning beach ball. If I wait a little bit, the Dynamips process disappears from the Activity Monitor and GNS will state "Failed to start Dynamips".

Still haven't been able to solve this issue (haven't looked at it in a few weeks). I'm attaching 2 screenshots showing what I'm talking about. I click the Test button, see that Dynamips has indeed started running, but GNS3 just sort of hangs for awhile before saying that it failed to start Dynamips.

Today, update 10.7.3 was released for OSX Lion. I installed the update, and wouldn't you know it.....GNS3 works again. No idea what changed, but my problem with Dynamips seems to have been resolved with this latest version of OSX.
