Dear Folks,

Kindly advise how to set the idle PC value in Mac OS X as i am not getting any "*" value during the calculating of idle PC Value.

CPU utilization is 96% without idle PC Value or other values without "*".

Further how i get Dynamips version 0.2.8-RC4 which ll calculate idle pc value automatically.

GNS3 0.8.6

Do not rely on values with a star. They'e only POTENTIALLY better idlepc values, and... "potentially" meas there is NO GUARANTEE that star-marked value will allways be better than other ones not marked with a "*".

To find good idlepc value, do a simple test/job:

Put a router, start it, ricgh-click and choose "idlepc", wait for list of values, and:
for all values from a list:
Observe CPU usage on your Mac,
select a value from a list, click "Apply" but DO NOT click OK,
CPU usage is good => put the value on "short list" and write down the CPU usage (remember: you found good value, but remember that it is possible better value :)
All values tested? If no - test other value from a list
If yes: choose value with lowest CPU usage noted (and you can always repeat that job again, if you want to).

You should have good idlepc value.
